There is a 4-inch-wide bar from the top to the bottom edge of my new stainless sink where the texture looks different. The surface probably was polished unevenly by the manufacturer. The contractor said he would have to remove the entire countertop to replace the sink. Is that true?

How do I get the sink out of my quartz countertop?
There is a 4-inch-wide bar from the top to the bottom edge of my new stainless sink where the texture looks different. The surface probably was polished unevenly by the manufacturer. The contractor said he would have to remove the entire countertop to replace the sink. Is that true?
